Christmas carol services 2017
We have enjoyed two really well attended carol services so far this Christmas. Firstly, on Sunday 10th December it was really lovely to see so many residents of Thornton-le-Moors join us on a rather chilly evening for a fantastic service of carols and readings for Christmas. This was one of the few occasions during the year when we are able to open up St. Mary's for public worship so it is always a special opportunity for the Parish to join together in the beautiful and ancient surroundings of the former Parish church. Thank you to everyone who braved the cold to join us; it was wonderful to see you all.
Secondly, on Sunday 17th December St. James', Ince hosted a traditional service of Carols by Candlelight with the outside of the church illuminated for the first time by our Nativity scene - always a special moment! It was wonderful again to welcome so many villagers from Ince, Elton and Thornton-le-Moors for what many regarding as the 'start of Christmas' at this firm favourite in our calendar of services.
May we take this opportunity to wish you and you family a very Happy Christmas and God's blessing for the new year.

Then, our Christmas tree in St. James' lit up in the chancel, a couple of images of candles in the sanctuary area and windows and the illuminated Nativity scene outside church - all taken on Sunday 17th December.
